I love having one foot in the spiritual community and one foot in the film world.
Mostly because I love making films. I love telling stories. I love investigating things I don’t understand.
But I also love the idea that somewhere within all of this work, we can contribute to a new human outcome that is actually positive for everyone.
And lately I keep finding myself asking the same question.
And then what?
I think we are living in a really interesting time because you can’t scroll through social media without someone talking about manifestation, consciousness, frequency, astrology, ancient civilizations, aliens, channeling, healing, trauma, meditation or how they finally discovered the secret to happiness.
And actually, I think this is a great sign.
Humans are looking.
We are searching. We are pondering. We are questioning what we have been told about who we are and why we are here.
And I would much rather live in a world where people are asking these questions than one where nobody is asking them at all.
But when you have been doing something for a long time, you also reach this strange point where you have kind of been around the block.
I have spent years making films about ancient civilizations, consciousness, spirituality, aliens, science, human potential and all of the wonderfully weird places where those subjects intersect.
So sometimes when someone says to me, “Have you heard about the Anunnaki?” I can physically feel myself cringe a little.
And then I have to catch myself.
Because maybe that is exactly where that person needs to be in their own evolutionary process.
I don’t actually know more than anyone else about the ultimate nature of reality.
I have just been asking some of these questions for a really long time.
And I bring this up in the most honest way because I think I have reached a different point in my own questioning.
I don’t necessarily need another piece of information.
I want to know what we are going to do with it.
You manifested the house.
And then what?
You discovered that consciousness may extend beyond the brain.
And then what?
You believe aliens are communicating with humanity.
Okay.
And then what?
You remembered a past life, learned your human design, discovered your astrology chart, opened your third eye, healed your inner child, went to Egypt, drank the plant medicine, met your guides and figured out that reality might be a giant hologram.
Great.
Now what are we doing with all of this?
Because humans have been performing rituals, communicating with gods and God, entering altered states, interpreting messages from the heavens and attempting to understand our relationship to something greater than ourselves for thousands of years.
And yet here we are.
In the language popularized by physicist Michio Kaku, humanity isn’t even a Type I civilization yet—a civilization capable of harnessing the energy available on its own planet.
We are still what he calls a Type 0 civilization.
Think about that for a second.
We are talking about multidimensional beings while simultaneously struggling to get along with the person living next door.
Maybe that is the part of this conversation I am becoming much more interested in.
How does any of this information help us better understand the family we were born into?
How does it change the way we behave in a relationship?
How does it affect the communities we build, the companies we create, the countries we live in and ultimately humanity’s mission as a whole?
We all have opinions on this.
However, there is another strange fact.
One of the strangest things I have watched happen in spiritual communities is that the very information intended to expand us can become another reason to separate ourselves.
My belief versus your belief.
Science versus spirituality.
Spirituality versus religion.
Religion versus science.
Alien Channeler Number One versus Alien Channeler Number Two.
My frequency is higher than your frequency.
My information is more evolved than your information.
My teacher has the truth and your teacher doesn’t.
We just keep rebuilding the same human behavior using different language.
It is circles and cycles.
And maybe it is time for a new algorithm.
What happens if instead of beginning with everything we disagree about, we begin with something we might actually be able to agree on?
That human beings are far more powerful than we have been taught to believe.
That consciousness remains deeply mysterious.
That every person experiences reality through a completely unique set of perceptions, experiences and beliefs.
And that somehow, whether you describe it through physics, biology, spirituality, religion, consciousness or simply being human, we are participating in something much bigger than our individual selves.
Maybe it is time to collectively put down the energetic weapons.
Because if humanity is actually a larger symphony, then perhaps the goal was never for every instrument to play the same note.
Maybe the point is to figure out what instrument you are.
This is also why I think we have become so obsessed with healing.
Healing is important. Of course it is.
But at what point does constantly trying to heal yourself become another way of constantly telling yourself that there is something left to fix?
Maybe there comes a moment when the question changes from:
What else do I need to heal?
to:
What did I come here to express?
That is the conversation I want to have now.
Not another argument about whose version of the universe is correct.
Not another person telling you that they have discovered the one frequency, the one geometry, the one ancient civilization, the one spiritual practice or the one message from something somewhere in the cosmos that finally explains everything.
I am much more interested in what happens after the information.
Let’s start somewhere else.
You are powerful.
You are magical.
Transformation doesn’t only happen in meditation, ceremony, or in the big realizations.
It happens in the choices we make every day.
That is what navigating the illusion is all about.
